Patellar Tendonitis/Jumper’s Knee

What Is Jumper’s Knee?

The patellar tendon plays a very important role in activities such as running, jumping, kicking and numerous lifting movements. The patella, or kneecap, has a strong fibrous tendon that extends down to its attachment at the shin bone or tibia. Inflammation of this tendon from repetitive movement or excessive loading can cause patellar tendonitis.
