Bursitis

Bursa are fluid filled sacs located around joints in your body. These bursa aid in the smooth and pain free movement of muscles, tendon, and ligaments around your joints. Inflammation of these bursa can cause deep, burning pain especially in weight bearing areas such as the hips and knees, but can also occur at the shoulder, elbow and ankle. Bursitis is associated with overuse or improper movement at a joint over a long period of time and often can create a visible pocket of swelling at the joint.

Signs and Symptoms:

 ·       Pain and swelling in a joint

·       Sensitivity to direct pressure of the injured area

·       Decreased range of motion

·       Stiffness of joints from overuse or improper function
