The quadriceps are a group of four muscles located on the front of the thigh. They are responsible for straightening the knee and forward flexion of the hip. These muscles are often injured among runners and cyclists as a result of overuse and weight lifters, soccer players and other athletes as a result of loaded or quick movements. Activities such as running, jumping, kicking and squatting can exacerbate a quadriceps strain. These injuries often respond extremely well to our treatment techniques at Adapt Sports Therapy.
Signs and Symptoms:
· Soreness in the front of the thigh
· Pain when straightening knee or flexing the hip
· Sensitivity to touch at the front of the thigh
