Shoulder Pain

The shoulder has more range of motion than any other joint in the body. Due to this extensive range of motion and repetitive use, the shoulder is susceptible to a number of injuries. Arthritis, tears in soft tissue (muscle and ligaments), and inflammation are some common causes of shoulder pain. Throwing sports such as baseball, softball, football, and volleyball are commonly associated with shoulder injuries.

Signs and Symptoms:

 •       Pain while throwing or reaching overhead

•       Tenderness to touch

•       Difficulty sleeping or getting comfortable

•       Clicking and popping in the shoulder

•       Stiffness and decreased range of motion
